Brigid: “All I can do is give you some food for now, but the doctor will be with you as soon as he can, ok?”
??: “Doctor, please help, my ears are really really hot. It hurts!”–
Brigid: “Sorry kiddo, I’m not a doctor yet so I can’t help you with that.”
Her first encounter with a patient.
Brigid: “Sorry to interrupt. I’m Brigid, I’ve just started today!”–
??: “Ah, hello, nice to meet you. Sorry I can’t stand around and chat, I’m very busy with some research at the moment and I’m the only doctor on call. That’s why we took someone else on. I’m sure it won’t be long before you get settled in and whatnot. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to it.”
Brigid: “Excuse me, Doctor?”
First task of the day: making coffee.
Brigid: “Hey, I’m Brigid, I’m newly starting today!”–
??: “Hey. Look, sorry, but I can’t really give you a tour or anything right now because we’re super busy and we’re totally understaffed right now but the break room is just in the back there if you wanna get settled in or whatever, ok?”
Brigid is in the building.
